Our Cheese Counter:

We offer different options for our clients.

Fun-Do it yourself

This includes instructions on how to keep, cut and serve the cheese. A little story behind each cheese, tasting notes, suggested order and wine pairings. Impress your family or guests with your own wine and cheese party. These also make for great gifts for the holidays or any other celebration.

Fun-Do events

Let us cater your private or corporate event. We can deliver cheese platters for small groups. Organize a wine and cheese party for you by setting up an artisan cheese display with tasting notes and provide the wines to pair them with. Cater your "mingling event", which includes the artisan cheese table, wines to pair them with, glassware and our cheesy team to entertain your guests serve the wine and answer any questions they might have.

Fun-Do it for you

Let us design a cheese program for your restaurant, cafe or lounge. Create seasonal menus to pair with your wine list, train your staff on the cheeses and on how to keep them alive and happy. This is a year round consulting to establish a great cheese program. Another option is our hand picked-at their peak artisan selection that can be offered as a cheese plate.

Fun-Do it a lot

Wholesale for restaurants, cafes and lounges. Pick from our selection of artisan cheeses and we will deliver them to your establishment. Another option is our Cheese Club, a monthly selection of artisan cheeses at their peak, paired with a bottle of wine, tasting notes and a little history on the cheeses. This is for people whose passion for artisan cheeses and great wines is a celebration!

Fun-Do it together

An interactive class, where the instructor cuts and plates the cheeses while sharing stories behind each artisan cheese, gives advice on how to keep the alive and happy and finally pairs them with a selection of wines to discuss with the group what worked and what didn't. All this in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. This option is also great for corporations wanting to create team unity, by making it more interactive having the group participate in the cutting, plating and pouring process. Cheese and wine tend to bring people together and is a great way to create team unity in the workplace.

Fun-Do Events- Rapture Lounge

A cheese and wine pairing at Rapture Lounge in Astoria, we've done several tastings over the past 3 or 4 years, this time we had a big turnout in spite of the torrential rain. We had spanish, dutch, french and american cheeses and must have plated close to 80, needless to say the everyone ordered more wine and cocktails and it turned into a cheesy party. If you would like to introduce a cheese plate on your menu this is the way to get a feel for what cheeses will work with your clientele.

Fun-Do Events -Astoria Art House

The Grand Opening at the Art House Astoria was great! Micah and Jane, you guys have something special there, thanks for letting us participate.
"Fundo Events provided cheese for our fundraiser and helped make it an extra special evening. They set up a beautiful presentation with avariety of amazing cheeses. They were also very helpful in explaining the subtleties of each cheese to our participants and helping them with wine pairings. Their cheese is second to none!

Fun Do it yourself - Astoria's Melting Pot

1. Blue Ledge Farm Crottina, goat’s milk cheese from Salisbury Vermont, bloomy rind, milky with a hint of citrus. The silky paste of this cheese will please everyone.
2. Roomano, cow’s milk cheese from Holland. Very smooth cheese, crystals and butterscotch, this cheese melts in your mouth. This cheese is like candy to a child.
3. Azeitao, sheep’s milk cheese made in Arrabida, Portugal. This small wheel is full flavored, soft and runny with hints of sweet herbs. It will definitely become one of your favorites.
4. Stilton, cow’s milk cheese from England. This blue sometimes called a royal cheese, is not as salty or as aggressive as other blues and it has a balanced finish.

This selection honors Astoria’s multiculturalism. Great cheeses are made by great people all over the world. A place like Astoria that is home to hundreds of different cultures and accents, should in fact house an eclectic selection of cheeses. Pair this with a bottle of Port, Malvasia or a Grunner Veltliner.
Enjoy!

Fun Do it yourself - All American

1. Bijou, goat’s milk cheese from Vermont, semi firm in the style of the Loire Valley goat cheeses. Mild flavored and delicate, it can be addictive.
2. Grand Cru Gruyere Surchoix, cow’s milk cheese from Wisconsin. Rich, spicy and nutty this is made in style of the great mountain Swiss cheeses.
3. Vermont’s Shepherd, sheep’s milk cheese made in Vermont. This is one of the great American artisan cheeses. It is made seasonal by the Ielpi Major family; this is the country’s oldest sheep’s milk cheese. Smooth, creamy, rich and earthy flavors, this is a jewel.
4. Crater Lake Blue, cow’s milk cheese from Central Point Oregon. This blue cheese is not too salty, somewhat sweet and creamy, well balanced.

Artisan cheese making in the United States has taken major steps forward, creating some amazing cheeses that can rival any European cheese. Let’s enjoy this with a Riesling from Oregon, a California Zinfandel, Niagara’s dessert wines or a Pinot Noir from the state of Washington.
Enjoy!

Fun Do it yourself - La Tradition

1. Selles-sur-cher, goat’s milk cheese from the Loire Valley, very mild, milky, creamy with subtle hints of lemon.
2. Langres, wash rind cow’s milk cheese from the region of Champagne. Very delicate cheese.
3. Comte, cow’s milk mountain cheese. One of France’s most popular cheese, flavors can go from apricot, chocolate, butter, nutty. Some say there are more than 80 flavors in this cheese.
4. Roquefort, sheep’s milk cheese from the Aveyron region. This blue cheese has a very rich flavor, piquant and it melts in your mouth.

This selection offers a quick example on the art and tradition of artisan cheese making in France. Subtle flavors, delicate textures, live side by side with richness and complexity in French cheeses. To the French it’s all about tradition and pride. Pair this with a bottle of Sancerre, Burgundy, Sauternes and why not Champagne!
Bon Appetite!
